    Title:Label-free and selective cholesterol detection based on multilayer functional structure coated fiber fabry-perot interferometer probe

    Abstract:A reflective fiber-optic Fabry-Perot cavity probe sensor is proposed to selectively measure cholesterol concentration by insert single mode fiber into ceramic tube and immobilize epoxy resin (ER)/graphene oxide (GO)/beta-cyclodextrin (β-CD) multi-layer film onto end face of ceramic tube. EDC/NHS activated GO is selected to form chemical binding with β-CD, and β-CD is the sensitive materials to bind with cholesterol molecules. With multi-layer film assisted, the sensitivity of sensor to cholesterol concentration can reach 3.92 nm/mM and the limit of detection reaches 3.48 μ M. In addition, 4 mM hemoglobin, glucose and ascorbic acid are doped into a set cholesterol sample and verified the highly selectivity of sensing cholesterol. Furthermore, the reproducibility was proved by measure the spectrum of four sensors with same fabrication process, and the reusability was also proved by repeated measurements. Overall, the sensor features with high mechanical strength, ease of fabrication, real-time monitoring, low cost and ease for measurement that given by probe structure. Therefore, the sensor provides a remarkable analytical platform for biosensing applications. ? 2023 Elsevier B.V.

    Abstract:In this paper, a mirror with 400mm aperture is taken as the research object. A test system and experimental method for the study of the mechanism of action between the surface shape of the mirror and the actuating force are designed. The system is composed of five parts: optical element, the metering type surface shape control device, a stress-strain testing system, a measuring device for the mirror surface shape and a multi-dimensional translation table. Firstly, the support mode of φ400mm aperture plane mirror is determined by means of optically integrated analysis technique. Secondly, the design of the metrological surface shape control device is completed. The metrological surface shape control device can realize the micro-stress support of the mirror and provide the initial state for the experimental study. At the same time, the actuator component on the back can test and display the driving force in real time. Thirdly, with the mirror shape as the optimization target and the force applied on the back of the mirror as the control variable, the size of the force can be obtained by using the optic-mechanical integrated analysis technology for simulation optimization. In the experiment, the mirror shape can meet the expected requirements by applying the corresponding tension or pressure through the back actuator. In addition, set up a mirror surface shape - promoting the motivation mechanism research and testing system. The research flow of mirror shape regulation mechanism is put forward, through reflection mirror shape detection, the form data processing, and actuating force calculation, and the power, surface shape control effect assessment, through several rounds of iteration calculation and adjustment, realize the regulation and optimization of reflection mirror.     Title:The detection method of sidelobe peaks parameter in weak signal regions based on NVPCA Image enhancement

    Abstract:Aiming at the problem that the measurement of strong laser far-field focal spot based on side lobe beam diffraction inversion cannot extract the smallest measurable signal in the periphery of the side lobe image, this paper proposes a method for detecting the peak parameters of the weak signal region in the side lobe based on neighborhood vector principal component analysis (NVPCA) image enhancement. The main optimization measures are as follows: First, treat each pixel in the sidelobe image and its 8 neighborhood pixels as a column vector to construct a 9-dimensional data cube, and the first dimensional data after PCA transformation is an NVPCA image; Secondly, using angle transformation to transform the detection object, the various peak parameters of the one-dimensional sidelobe curve in all directions are detected, thereby obtaining the quantified energy distribution characteristics of the weak signal area of the sidelobe beam; Then, search for the maximum position points of each sidelobe peak in all directions, connect all position points to generate a maximum ring for each sidelobe peak, and calculate the grayscale mean of each maximum ring; Finally, the grayscale mean of the maximum rings that is greater than the LCM target separation threshold and the smallest is selected as the minimum measurable sidelobe peak signal of the entire sidelobe beam.The experimental results show that the sidelobe weak signal detection method based on NVPCA image enhancement can separate and extract the minimum measurable signal from the fifth peak ring on the periphery of the sidelobe image, increasing the dynamic range ratio by 1.528 times, improving the calculation accuracy of the dynamic range ratio, and laying a foundation for the future accurate measurement of strong laser far field in large scientific devices. ? 2023 SPIE.     Abstract:Chalcogenide hollow-core anti-resonant fibers (HC-ARFs) are a promising propagation medium for high-power mid-infrared (3-5 μm) laser delivery, while their properties have not been well understood and their fabrications remain challenging. In this paper, we design a seven-hole chalcogenide HC-ARF with touching cladding capillaries, which was then fabricated from purified As40S60 glass by combining the "stack-and-draw" method with a dual gas path pressure control technique. In particular, we predict theoretically and confirm experimentally that such medium exhibits higher-order mode suppression properties and several low-loss transmission bands in the mid-infrared spectrum, with the measured fiber loss being as low as 1.29 dB/m at 4.79 μm.     Abstract:In this work, we propose a meshed miniaturized frequency-selective metasurface (MMFSM), which is insensitive to the incidence microwave angle and has great optical imaging quality by extending the effective length of the aperture within the periodic unit and replacing large metal parts with different metallic meshes. Experimental results indicated that our MMFSM had an average normalized transmittance of 87.2% in the visible-near-infrared band, a passband loss of 1.446 dB, and an oblique incidence stabilization angle of 50° (the passband loss was less than 2.38 dB).     Abstract:Different from the traditional ideal column symmetry cavities, we directly generated the cylindrical vector pulsed beams in the folded six-mirror cavity by employing a c-cut Tm:CaYAlO4 (Tm:CYA) crystal and SESAM. By adjusting the distance between the curved cavity mirror (M4) and the SESAM, both the radially polarized beam and azimuthally polarized beam are generated around 1962 nm and the two vectorial modes can be freely switched in the resonator. Further increased the pump power to 7 W, the stable radially polarized Q-switched mode-locked (QML) cylindrical vector beams were also obtained with an output power of 55 mW, the sub-pulse repetition rate of 120.42 MHz, pulse duration of ~0.5 ns and the beam quality factor M2 of ~2.9. To our knowledge, this is the first report of radially and azimuthally polarized beams in the 2 μm wavelength solid-state resonator. ? 2023 Optica Publishing Group under the terms of the Optica Open Access Publishing Agreement.

    Abstract:The dense quantum entanglement distribution is the basis for practical quantum communication, quantum networks and distributed quantum computation. To make entanglement distribution processes stable enough for practical and large-scale applications, it is necessary to perform them with the integrated pattern. Here, we first integrate a dense wavelength-division demultiplexing system and unbalanced Mach-Zehnder interferometers on one large-scale photonic chip and demonstrate the multi-channel wavelength multiplexing entanglement distribution among distributed photonic chips. Specifically, we use one chip as a sender to produce high-performance and wideband quantum photon pairs, which are then sent to two receiver chips through 1-km standard optical fibers. The receiver chip includes a dense wavelength-division demultiplexing system and unbalanced Mach-Zehnder interferometers and realizes multi-wavelength-channel energy-time entanglement generation and analysis. High quantum interference visibilities prove the effectiveness of the multi-chip system.     Abstract:We report on a multi-dimensionally modulated optical vortex array (MMOVA). First, we propose a modified transform technique of the lattice coordinates, which possesses more modulated parameters. Then, the MMOVA is experimentally generated and the optical vortex (OV) is verified and determined by the interference method. Besides the whole structural transformation of MMOVA, the modulation of local part and even the individual OV are executed, which demonstrate the distinct capacity of MMOVA over that of the existing optical vortex array (OVA). The proposed MMOVA provides a novel scheme to generate OVAs with higher modulated dimensions, which will open up potential applications for multiple micro-particles manipulation. ? 2023 IOP Publishing Ltd.

    Abstract:Metasurface enables the generation and manipulation of multiphoton entanglement with flat optics, providing a more efficient platform for large-scale photonic quantum information processing. Here, we show that a single metasurface optical chip would allow more efficient characterizations of multiphoton entangled states, such as shadow tomography, which generally requires fast and complicated control of optical setups to perform projective measurements in different bases, a demanding task using conventional optics. The compact and stable device here allows implementations of general positive observable value measures with a reduced sample complexity and significantly alleviates the experimental complexity to implement shadow tomography. Integrating self-learning and calibration algorithms, we observe notable advantages in the reconstruction of multiphoton entanglement, including using fewer measurements, having higher accuracy, and being robust against optical loss. Our work unveils the feasibility of metasurface as a favorable integrated optical device for efficient characterization of multiphoton entanglement, and sheds light on scalable photonic quantum technologies with ultra-thin integrated optics. ? 2023, CC BY.

    Title:Exploring Contrastive Representation for Weakly-Supervised Glacial Lake Extraction

    Abstract:Against the background of the ongoing atmospheric warming, the glacial lakes that are nourished and expanded in High Mountain Asia pose growing risks of glacial lake outburst floods (GLOFs) hazards and increasing threats to the downstream areas. Effectively extracting the area and consistently monitoring the dynamics of these lakes are of great significance in predicting and preventing GLOF events. To automatically extract the lake areas, many deep learning (DL) methods capable of capturing the multi-level features of lakes have been proposed in segmentation and classification tasks. However, the portability of these supervised DL methods need to be improved in order to be directly applied to different data sources, as they require laborious effort to collect the labeled lake masks. In this work, we proposed a simple glacial lake extraction model (SimGL) via weakly-supervised contrastive learning to extend and improve the extraction performances in cases that lack the labeled lake masks. In SimGL, a Siamese network was employed to learn similar objects by maximizing the similarity between the input image and its augmentations. Then, a simple Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI) map was provided as the location cue instead of the labeled lake masks to constrain the model to capture the representations related to the glacial lakes and the segmentations to coincide with the true lake areas. Finally, the experimental results of the glacial lake extraction on the 1540 Landsat-8 image patches showed that our approach, SimGL, offers a competitive effort with some supervised methods (such as Random Forest) and outperforms other unsupervised image segmentation methods in cases that lack true image labels. ? 2023 by the authors.

    Abstract:ZnO has attracted widespread attention as a promising ultraviolet (UV) emitting material. The UV emission efficiency of ZnO nanostructures can be promoted by surface decorating with semiconductors or metals. We decorate ZnO nanorod arrays by covering the surface of ZnO nanorods with a thin coating of Zr, Hf, Zn, Au or Ag and study the influence of metal coatings on the emission properties. ZnO nanorod arrays are prepared through hydrothermal reactions and post-annealing in N2, and metal coatings are deposited by pulsed laser deposition. The prepared bare ZnO nanorod arrays exhibit a highly-ordered wurtzite structure with good crystallinity and are capable of emitting strong UV near band edge (NBE) emission of ZnO along with a weak visible emission associated with deep-level (DL) defects in ZnO. The capability of emitting UV emission changes dramatically after the ZnO nanorods are covered with a thin metal coating. Covering with a coating of Zr, Hf or Zn results in a significant enhancement in the UV ZnO NBE emission, while Au or Ag covering leads to a drastic reduction. It is found that the enhancement or reduction of the UV ZnO NBE emission depends on whether the contact formed at the metal/ZnO interface is an ohmic or Schottky contact. ? 2023 Elsevier B.V.

    Abstract:The accuracy of star position simulation in star simulation systems is a key factor affecting the accuracy of ground calibration experiments for star sensors. In order to solve the problem that the current simulation star position accuracy is restricted by the size of its constituent elements, In this paper, the mathematical model for simulating the star position correction and the gray distribution of the constituent elements is derived, and the functional representation of the azimuth and longitude correction, elevation and latitude correction of the simulated star position is established. Exploring the distribution law of star position simulation error and establishing a corrected sub interval based on it, achieving sub pixel level star position simulation accuracy.
