    Abstract:In this paper, a novel high-throughput implementation for video decoding based on H.264 is proposed to improve the decoding efficiency. H.264 provides many new functions than previous video coding algorithm that bring more complex computations, Therefore, How t implementation of the decoder efficiency becomes a challenging. Research shows in the decoding flow there are many data dependency among different symbols. Especially in the entropy decoding this dependence is most obvious. Thence the CAVLC decoder requires large computation time, which administrates the overall decoder system performance. In order to improve performance of CAVLC decoder, the CAVLC decoder procedure is first analyzed. This paper presents a one decoding procedure double level resolve design for H.264 CAVLC decoding. In the proposed design, we exploit a predict method to achieve double level decoding. Besides the implementation of heading one detector is based on statistical results to improve efficiency of the decoder. Emulation results show that the calculation operation period of the implementation architecture can be reduced about 28% compare with the tradition CAVLC architecture. The maximum frequency can be larger than 216 MHz.

    Abstract:We demonstrate a photonic RF Hilbert transformer for broadband microwave in-phase and quadrature-phase generation based on an integrated frequency optical comb, generated using a nonlinear microring resonator based on a CMOS compatible, high-index contrast, doped-silica glass platform. The high quality and large frequency spacing of the comb enables filters with up to 20 taps, allowing us to demonstrate a quadrature filter with more than a 5-octave (3 dB) bandwidth and an almost uniform phase response. ? 2015 Optical Society of America.

    Abstract:Bladder wall segmentation from Magnetic Resonance (MR) images plays a crucial role in clinical applications. Level set-based methods are often used to extract the bladder boundaries. When suffering from the fuzzy boundaries, it often results in confused and leaking boundaries. It has been proved that an accurate shape prior can generate an effective force to address these problems. However, the shape prior estimation for the bladder is difficult due to the complex shape variations. Moreover, how to constrain the level set is another challenge. In this paper, we first propose a partial sparse shape model to construct a robust shape prior. Specifically, the partial reliable contour is encoded by the corresponding partial shape dictionary and decoded on the complete shape dictionary to obtain a complete reliable shape prior. Second, we propose a novel sector-driven level set model for locally constraining the evolution to address the problems caused by fuzzy boundaries. Our method was validated on 167 T2 FSE MR images acquired from 15 different patients, better results were obtained compared to the state-of-the-art methods. ? 2015, Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

    Title:High-resolution, low-injection-signal-power optical sampling

    Abstract:We have demonstrated a high-resolution, low-injection-signal-power optical sampling system using a 20-m-length dispersion-flattened photonics crystal fiber as optical sampling gate, and employing bridge-form low noise optical fiber amplifier. Optical pulse trains with -35 dBm input power and 1.25 ps interval were clearly displayed by using our all optical sampling system. To measure the temporal resolution of system accurately, optical pulse trains from a commercial 40 GHz actively mode-locked fiber laser, were injected into the optical sampling system and an autocorrelator with 5-fs resolution, respectively. 1.02 and 0.83 ps pulse-width were obtained by using our optical sampling system and the autocorrelator, respectively. These measured results show that the resolution of the system is as high as 0.6 ps. ? Springer Science+Business Media New York 2015.

    Abstract:In this talk, the physics of microring resonators is discussed in the classical and quantum regimes, in the context of the exploitation of chi-3 effects in these cavities as done by our group. Through the implementation of a novel microring pumping scheme and a quantum reinterpretation of the frequency comb, we present an integrated platform for the generation of quantum optical states spread over multiple optical modes. The scheme allows for highly stable and potentially fullyintegrable quantum light sources. Following the demonstration of a multiplexed heralded photon source, the scheme also enabled the first demonstration of a new nonlinear process on the integrated platform (type II spontaneous four-wave mixing) allowing the first direct generation of polarization-diverse photon pairs, where the first time two ring modes can be pumped in a stable configuration. ? 2015 IEEE.

    Abstract:We summarize here our recent results on high-repetition-rate laser mode-locking via microring resonators. The recent realization of multiple wavelength oscillators based on high Q-factor resonators has profoundly impacted optical frequency combs for metrology and precision measurements and other areas. The ability to mode-lock these devices is important for achieving high-precision optical clocks in a monolithic format, offering enormous benefits in performance, cost, size, and power consumption for optical waveform synthesis, high-capacity telecommunications, optical analog-to-digital conversion, and many other applications. Here, we demonstrated a mode-locked laser based on a monolithic high Q resonator. This device produces stable, self-starting transform-limited optical pulses at 200.3GHz, with a sub-100kHz linewidth and extremely narrow amplitude noise bandwidth of ? 2016 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.     Abstract:The visible and near-infrared imaging spectrometer on board the Yutu Rover of Chinese Chang'E-3 mission measured the lunar surface reflectance at a close distance (~1 m) and collected four spectra at four different sites. These in situ lunar spectra have revealed less mature features than that measured remotely by spaceborne sensors such as the Moon Mineralogy Mapper instrument on board the Chandrayaan-1 mission and the Spectral Profiler on board the Kaguya over the same region. Mineral composition analysis using a spectral lookup table populated with a radiative transfer mixing model has shown that the regolith at the landing site contains high abundance of olivine. The mineral abundance results are consistent with that inferred from the compound measurement made by the on board alpha-particle X-ray spectrometer. ?2015. American Geophysical Union. The scientific objectives are to study the relationships among solar magnetic field, solar flares, and coronal mass ejections (CMEs). ASO-S consists of three payloads: Full-disk Magnetograph (FMG), Lyman-alpha Solar Telescope (LST), and Hard X-ray Imager (HXI), to measure solar magnetic field, to observe CMEs and solar flares, respectively.
